My roots were first grounded into a family farm near Sinai, SD.  After meeting David at South Dakota State University, these roots were transplanted to beautiful southeast South Dakota and have grown strong over the last thirty years just north of Yankton on his family’s farm.  We have three adult children, Mary (Freedom Trail guide in Boston), Beatrice (senior at Dordt majoring in Animal Science), and Fred (a freshman at Northeast Community College in Norfolk in Electrical).  I’ve been a dedicated teacher for over twenty years, teaching in public, private, and homeschool settings. The Yankton County Commission appointed me to Planning and Zoning three years ago and through this board I have served on the Solar and Wind Task Forces.  I am treasurer of the Yankton County Sharpshooters, enjoying the .22 benchrest league in the summer.

Why am I running?  After this past legislative session, I believe Pierre is not just working against us, the ordinary folks of South Dakota, and District 18, but they are doing so with an urgency that demands immediate attention.  Something needs to change in Pierre, and it needs to change now.  I am running because I want to be a part of that change!

I will stand strong for life, the 2nd Amendment, property rights and local control.  I will also listen to the voters of District 18 and take your concerns to Pierre.  I look forward to a robust campaign and providing Republicans in District 18 a “New Choice.”
